Kathmandu being the capital has its own unique charm amidst all the chaos. Many monuments, Stupas and shrines are located in the capital. Its urban agglomeration offers a lot of scenic beauty suitable for sightseeing and hiking. Along with Bhaktapur and Nagarkot, Kathmandu becomes the largest metropolis in the Himalayan hill region.
Pokhara, the trekkers’ hub is another major city and will engross you with its natural beauty. The Annapurna Range with three of the ten highest mountains in the world, Dhaulagiri, Annapurna I and Manaslu is within 15 to 35 miles of the valley. The city is a base for trekkers undertaking the Annapurna Circuit through the Annapurna Conservation Area region of the Annapurna ranges in the Himalayas. Pokhara is also home to many Gorkha soldiers. Besides the lake and mountains, there are famed temples, natural springs and cave residing in the city.

Day by Day
Full Itinerary
Upon your arrival in the Tribhuwan International Airport (TIA) in Kathmandu, you will be greeted a Desire Adventure Representative. We will proceed to your hotel in our private transportation.
This morning, we have our breakfast and set out for our destination in Nagarkot. Nagarkot is a rooftop village renowned for its sunrise and sunset views of the Himalayas. Upon arrival we will see the beauty of the enormous Himalayas and rays of sun sneaking in from the peaks. After enjoying the enthrall beauty of Nagarkot, we head towards Bhaktapur. Bhaktapur is a city filled with authentic local lifestyle preserved over centuries of isolation from the hustle and bustle of modernism. While in the city square, we get to admire the Nyatopola Temple, the Golden Gate, water spouts and the 55 Window Palace which merge together to provide an ambiance of a magical outdoor theater to its visitors. We also immerse ourselves in the authentic delicacy of the locals in Bhaktapur.
Although the 2015 Earthquake had destroyed some parts of Bhaktapur, the charm of the Durbar Square and the hospitality of the people still stand tall. Towards the end of the day we return back to our hotel in Kathmandu.

After breakfast, we begin our sightseeing tour towards Kathmandu Durbar Square, Swayambhunath, Boudhanath, Pashupatinath, and if time lets us, we will also visit Patan Durbar Square. Kathmandu Durbar Square showcases Nepalese art and architecture at its best. The architecture is typical of the Malla dynasty who ruled over Nepal from the 12th to the 18th century. Swayambhunath Temple is commonly known as the Monkey temple with a large monkey population residing in the area. Pashupatinath Temple is situated on the banks of river Bagmati. It is one of the most important temples for the Hindu adherent. During the festival Shivaratri, hundreds and thousands of devotees gather in the temple to offer their devotion. Boudhanath Stupa is listed under UNESCO World Heritage Site and regarded as the largest Stupas in South Asia, built on the ancient trade route to Tibet. The ambience and lifestyle resembles a Tibetan way of living. Towards the end of the day, we head back to our hotel.

After breakfast we will transfer to Pokhara via private vehicle . You can also get a glimpse of rural Nepal along the way. We will reach Pokhara during midday or late afternoon. We will stay overnight at a Tourist Standard Hotel in Pokhara. Upon arrival we check in to the hotel in Lakeside. Lakeside is filled with colorful and vibrant shops where you can stroll around and enjoy the view with your free time on this day.

Today, we will visit the Mountain Museum which portraits the lifestyle and the culture of the mountain people and showcase the legends of the Himalayas who lost their life during mountaineering. After the museum, we will visit some major attractions of the city. We will visit Davis Falls (waterfall that flows into a narrow and deep canal which has no end), Gupteswor Mahadev Cave (temple of Lord Shiva within a deep cave) and Bat Cave. We will also visit the World Peace Pagoda in the evening. The World Peace Pagoda is situated atop a hill on the other side of the Fewa Lake, overlooking the beautiful city of Pokhara. This is a perfect time to capture the beauty of the peaks while it casts its shadow in the tranquil Fewa Lake.

Early in the morning we leave for Sarangkot to enjoy the sunrise. Sarangkot lies on top of a hill overlooking the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges. We can enjoy the breathtaking views of the mighty Himalayas from here. We will also visit the Bindabasini Temple, one of the most popular and holy temples residing in the city and Seti River Gorge. Later, we will take a trip to yet another museum. Gorkha Museum is dedicated to the famous Gorkha Soldiers of Nepal who committed their life to bravery. We will observe the gears, apparels and a brief history of these Gorkha Soldiers. After a fruitful day, we will head back to our hotel and stroll around the lakeside before we bid adieu to Pokhara tomorrow.

After breakfast we will transfer to Pokhara via private vehicle. Along the journey, we can witness beautiful river banks with wonderful views of hills and the rural Nepalese lifestyle. Upon reaching Kathmandu, we can either rest or do souvenir shopping. We will host a farewell dinner for you in the evening and celebrate your stay in Nepal.
