Kathmandu Chitwan Tour
Get indulged in nature and experience the best of wildlife here in Nepal. Chitwan is located in the southwest form Kathmandu and is home to one of the most popular National Parks in Nepal. Chitwan National Park has various kinds of forests, grasslands and even some endangered and rare wildlife which makes the place so exotic. From the one-horned rhinos to the Royal Bengal tiger, you can spot all different kinds of land and water animals in this “Heart of the Jungle.”
Desire Adventures has come up with a sub-tropical experience package for all the wildlife fanatics who want to explore historical as well as the adventurous side of Nepal and experience Chitwan where the animals and the locals reside in harmony. The 6 days trip will include a cultural and historical tour of Kathmandu Valley and a marvelous trip to Chitwan to witness some unfettered wild animals. Along with 2 days Chitwan Tour, The trip also includes an insight on the monuments, shrines, temples and palaces built hundreds of years ago by the Nepalese royalties. The architecture relates to Hindu and Buddhist relics as they are the major religion being practiced in Nepal. In Chitwan, besides the World Heritage National Park, other main attraction can be the Tharu Community with a unique culture and custom of their own. Strolling around the valley to explore the Tharu community is a great way to come closer to the unearthed diversified Nepal.

Day by Day
Full Itinerary
Today is your arrival day in Nepal. Upon your arrival, our team representative will pick you up at the airport. You will be guided to your hotel where you can freshen up and stroll around the area. You can also come visit us in the office and let us know if you have any concerns or want to meet your guide. However, if your flight is in the evening, we will directly host a dinner for you in a local Nepali Restaurant with typical music and dance performance where you can meet your guide. This can also be an introduction for you to the Nepali custom and culture.

We will have breakfast in the morning and begin our trip for the day. We will visit some of the cultural and historical sites listed under UNESCO World Heritage. Swayambhunath, Boudhanath, Pashupatinath and Kathmandu Durbar Square are the areas we will be visiting today. Kathmandu Durbar Square describes the art and architecture of the 18th century Nepal ruled by the Malla dynasty. Pashupatinath is nearby the International Airport and is considered the most important pilgrimage sites. The temple of Lord Shiva stands tall with other various temples in the banks of Bagmati River. Boudhanath Stupa is considered among the largest stupas in South Asia built in the trade route to Tibet. We can see the Tibetan influence in the lifestyle and food of the people living in this area. Swayambhunath, commonly known as the Monkey Temple (you can literally find a large population of monkeys residing in this area) is another enormous Stupa situated on top of a hill overlooking Kathmandu valley. If time permits, we will also visit Patan Durbar Square. Towards the end of the day, we return to our hotel and call it a day.

Our destination for today will be Chitwan. After breakfast in the morning, we will head out for a 175kms drive from Kathmandu towards Chitwan. Along the Trishuli River, the view is magnificent accompanied by the tall hills and beautiful landscape. Upon reaching Chitwan, we will check-in to our hotel and rest for the day. We can also walk along the banks of Rapti River or visit nearby areas and explore the Tharu community and their way of living.

The National Park is the first of its kind in Nepal. It is located in the sub tropical Terai region of Nepal and is usually humid here. To enjoy this exotic land, we will set off for an elephant ride amidst the jungle to witness some more birds and animals in their natural habitat. The elephant safari itself is an exciting and exotic experience. After the safari, we will also do Elephant Bathing by riding on the back of the elephant while it splashes water from its trunk. It is a truly amazing experience when the elephant swims and washes itself in the Rapti River. Later, we will go for a canoe ride in the river where we can also get a closer look at the crocodiles and the water birds. It is a thrilling activity to take a canoe to the Rapti River while the crocodiles are basking in the afternoon sun.

After breakfast, we will head back for Kathmandu. The scenario is beautiful along the way. We will reach Kathmandu after 4-5 hours of ride and check-in to our hotel. In the evening, we will host a farewell dinner for you and we can also talk about the experience you had during the trip.

Today is your last day in Nepal. Nevertheless, if your flight is in the evening you can do some souvenir shopping for your family and friends. Our team representative will see you off in the airport. Namaste and have a safe flight!
